The Truth Hurts…Whether You Like It Or Not

Morning,

As I mentioned some time ago, there are some issues that I have needed to say out loud, because I think they need to be said. Not because I want to say it, far from it, but because I need to say this in writing. Writing my thoughts out aloud on this blog has allowed me to think more closely about how to convey them. But it comes with responsibility, and a lot more than I first realized when I started out doing this some years ago, on a different blog completely.

Those friends, who are reading this, I dearly apologize for what I say at the bottom of this piece, but again on my side of the fence, it needs to be said – you certainly won't understand where I am coming from on the point that I discuss, but again I apologize. There are a couple of bits on this blog, which until now have been completely unknown to the vast majority of you.

Unfortunately, I have a couple of revelations in this piece which are relevant in this piece. Read at your risk, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Lastly, I apologize if I repeat myself, several times in this piece but this sort of post is not the sort that I do normally. It's not as irreverent, sardonic and dare I say eloquently written as I try to write my blogs normally.

It is about eight years ago since my father decided to walk out on myself and my family, leaving Mum to fend for herself and left her with all of his debts and the various shit that he left behind. My relationship with my father was relatively cordial up to the point of when he left for a younger model. He had left home for 'financial reasons' a year before, citing the lack of payment of his council tax – but I have my own suspicions into why he truly left home. And it wasn't for any of the reasons mentioned above – I won't elaborate much further, that can be left for another time.

At the time of Dad leaving the marital home, I had been back from the Isle of Wight for about a year and had seriously struggled to adapt to life at home, due to the vast differences in lifestyle, between school and home – and the thought of taking my own life had been seriously considered due to this as well as other factors. The lack of friends that I had back then, as well as having no job had amplified this still further. Some will say that I should have been strong for my mother and sister but they themselves wanted shot of him. Having been beaten and bruised by his brutality for the previous few years that I had been at boarding school, which is understandable. But at a time when I needed a father-figure, someone to talk to even, there was no-one to talk to.

The last time I spoke to my Dad face to face, was nearly four years ago – four years this October to be precise. Although there was a flurry of e-mails that were sent between myself and him, that soon dried up. Apart from Christmas cards, I don't have any communication with him.

This is the bit where people are going to be offended – particularly my mother and sister. I wish I could talk to him; there are things that I have to talk to him about subjects that frankly I can't talk to my mother about, and certainly not my sister.

My friends are absolute stars, but even they wouldn't be able understand why I need him.

You see for seven years of my life I was away from home, so obviously I was away from my parents for long periods of time – but at least there was father-figures of sorts there at school, that I could look up to and aspire to be.

When I left school, I lost that influence that had kept me on the straight and narrow and there was a sense within me, that the likelihood of me getting anywhere in life was practically next to nil – having only left school with a couple of GCSEs, and even then they weren't anything to write home about.

Dad at this point was working at a pub in Pluckley, just outside Ashford, opposite the Train Station actually, I remember one story where having forgotten a fresh pair of chef clothes, he called home and asked my sister to drop them off at the train station on the way up to picking me up from Vauxhall Bridge, the half-term before I left school, and there he was on the platform waiting for the train to pull in, with my sister in tow with his clothes for that night. Unbelievable!

I remember the morning that Dad in effect told me that he was leaving home, to move into some dingy apartment down by Marine Parade here in Folkestone. At the time, I didn't appreciate the seriousness of the situation, partly because I was in my own zonked-out world, but as time passed on it became abundantly clear to me that he was seeing someone else – it was probably Boxing Day of that same year, so we're talking 1999 now, where he took me to Canterbury for the day. Back then there was only the out-of-town shops which were open, and I remember him having to buy me a new mobile as mine had died due to one drop to the floor too many.

On the way home, he began talking about the possibility of moving away, he didn't say where or when, but it seemed like a matter of time before he did go.

He eventually told us just two days before he was due to start his new job in Bournemouth. It was days before I was due to start my third spell at college and my spirits were as high as they had been in the two years since I had left school – saying that, that wasn't difficult, considering my two suicide attempts in those preceding years.

Both times I had been persuaded not to go ahead with them by my sister. Both times were attempted down what was East Cliff, nowadays more of a landslip away from being nothing more than a mound. The first time was Christmas 1999, I was working at Argos as part of a training program and I really wasn't enjoying it at all. All I remember of that morning, was having a explosive argument with my mother and sister over my life and how they were controlling me to the point of by remote control, some things don't change that much, unfortunately.

Because I was such an independently minded person I couldn't tolerate the amount of control that they wanted to inject into my life and although I'm back home, now after several months living with a work colleague (former, now), they know that they can't control me. In fact if anything I call the shots now!

The second suicide attempt came on my 18th birthday. This is something that up till now I have decided not to talk about to anyone because people didn't need to know. It is something which is not known to anyone. Not Mum, my sister, nor any of my friends – neither here in Folkestone, nor any of my school friends that I still remain in contact.

The reason was that some junkie who was on the same training course as me, decided to steal my birthday money which had been given to me by my Dad, it was some 50 quid – and both myself and Dad seriously kicked off, sending various messages to the training course, threatening all-out revenge on the little bitch who stole the money. I know full well who stole the money, I know what the money was used for – and here's a clue, it wasn't to feed her family that night.

Anyway, I went down to the training place, the next day. Guess what, the cunts threatened to report me to the police for threatening behavior. Who said it was threats! Because of previous incidents involving myself and the authorities, I didn't have any trust in the police being able to nail the junkie down. In the end, I didn't do anything as they threatened to get me charged on the threatening behavior, if I went ahead and pressed charges against the fucking bint.

I think that was the moment that I lost all respect for authority. Dad was to leave for Dorset within a few months of that incident and I think that that as well as everything that happened before had made me think that everything and everyone was against me.

It wasn't until the morning that he was due to leave for Dorset that he actually came up to Mum's and told us what the situation was. From what I remember looking back, he had been up North Yorkshire and Scotland that week, and he gave us this lollipop from Gretna Green. They were inscribed 'Best Son' and 'Best Daughter' as he had got the same for my sister. Obviously, with him having left home the year before, I had heard inklings from conversations between Mum and my sister in the previous weeks, saying that this was going to happen.

I think I exploded at all three of them. They had it seemed ignored what I felt and didn't even give me a chance to give my thoughts. At the time, I was considering leaving Folkestone, as it did and still does hold very dark and nasty memories – as I have mentioned before. At that moment I didn't know what to think, whether to jump ship and go with Dad to Dorset, have a better life, better job prospects or stay up here and try and sort my life out – saying that though, it seemed like it was falling apart at the seams at that moment.

In the end, I wasn't given that option and I had to stay with Mum and my sister. That was the start of the end of my relationship with my Dad; I have barely seen him half a dozen times since then. The last time was just under four years ago. I get Christmas cards from him, but absolutely nothing at all from him, come my birthday, which is why the cards that I get from my friends are that extra special.

The autumn Dad left, I went back to college. I only survived about four weeks, before walking out and having another emotional breakdown. Which seemed to go on for some months – there were times when I wouldn't be able to sleep without crying, I needed someone to talk to. But who could I talk to about something like this? I couldn't exactly go to the person I wanted to talk to, he was hundreds of miles away with his fucking bit on the side.

Looking back on that period of my life probably makes me realize just how close I got to losing it, completely. Mum was oblivious to the problems that I was dealing with, mostly in the head. She said that she was worried about me, but she was doing 11 hour shifts – she couldn't worry about me 24/7.

In my life, I've had friends whose parents have passed away, long before they should and the emotional connection that they have with them, in death is infinite. It's like they are still with them, every day they live and breathe.

I don't have that connection with my Dad. That broke the moment, he left home, left Mum in the deep brown stuff and got himself a younger model.

Hard as this might be to explain, but I envy those friends who have suffered a dreadful loss. Even in that time of grief and sorrow, something is there, which can never ever be broken, it's unique to them. They have that to keep for as long as they live. Nothing can replace having your Mum or your Dad or your Brother or Sister with you, watching you, being with you – as you go on in life. But you have all the memories of them, to cherish as long as you remember.

I don't have any good memories of my father.

I've never really had my Dad in my life, and yet when I left school and needed that father figure to help me through my depression and my suicidal thoughts and eventual attempts, I had to drag myself through it. He had his chance to have that influence in my life and he threw it away for the chance of a second sex life, via Viagra. I can't forgive him for that – and I have done some forgiving in my lifetime. I've had to for my own good.

But not for that.

Those of you who read this, and have strained relations with your parents, with your brothers and sisters, make up with them.

Don't make the same mistakes, which I made and take them for granted, thinking that they are going to be there for as long as you want them to be.

It never ends up as being like that.

It's my father's birthday today.

A phone call would not go amiss, wherever you are.

Please.

It's Not Just The Players Who Are A Problem...

I've just heard the phone in on Five Luve this morning, whilst checking any outstanding work from yesterday, and the one thing that comes across is the lack of responsilbility that any of the callers had for their and their fellow 'supporters' actions.

Let me be categoric on this issue. I hate the England team, the set up, the men in suits and most of all, the deranged and pathetically narrow-mindedness of the majority of their fans.

Whilst I was watching bits of the game on Saturday, and in between the incessant booing in the first half, you could hear the pathetic, right-wing, xenophobic chants of the In-Ger-Land support. This as well as the usual catcalls towards certain players, is going to cause great unease amongst the players and management.

In the papers this morning there is surprise that Fabio Capello has said that his players prefer to play away rather than at Wembley, where the pressure is beyond intense. He said that he expected, that England would play with more confidence at the Maksimir, than they would do at Wembley.

Considering that Croatia have never lost a game in Zagreb, I think that is being very optimistic to put it mildly. Also consider that the Croatia manager, Slavan Bilic believes that there are no differences between Capello's team, and the one who lined up and performed so abysmally under Steve McClaren, last November.

In fact, you could argue that without England's most talented player, Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, Capello's hand is weakened further.

Gerrard has more important issues to deal with.

The filthy Mancs are at Anfield in 72 hours..,

That's the game I care for...

End Of The World???.....Nah!

Morning,

As I speak, scientists are below Geneva and they are trying to recreate the first moments after what is known as the Big Bang. Naturally, you have the doomsayers and religious fundamentalists saying that it could cause the end of the world.

More like they are scared that the experiment does work out, and the Vicars, Evangelists, Rabbis and Ayatollahs are soon out of a job.

That, more than anything would be worth the £5billion, the experiment is reportedly costing!!

Amen!

Are The Metropolitan Elite, Our Biggest Enemy?

It is a thought which in my opinion has not been taken into account. I ask this in light of several surreal column which have done the rounds in the past few weeks.

First of all, I need to say that the work that Polly Toynbee and David Aaranovitch amongst others have done highlighting the state of British Society - has been invaluable work, and those of us on the Liberal Left of the political spectrum are in their debt.

However, recently I have noticed that several columnists have seemed to have gone over the diving board with some of their thoughts, and the question that has to be asked is if their ramblings are having a detrimental effect of engineering social change in this country of ours.

One of the big factors of this, is that the Metropolitan Elite don't have a clue how hard-working families are coping with the on-going credit crunch. With house prices expecting to come crashing down over the coming months, some of Labour's support, those who they flirted with in 1997 and 2001 are starting to suffer, badly.

And yet, the likes of Toynbee and Steve Richards of the Independent, continue to ignore those concerns and keep on beating the drum and supporting the government on issues such as immigration and crime and global warming. For the average Labour voter on the street, they are openly hostile to more immigrants and economic migrants, and yet these same columnists are advocating more?

Why?

Take Polly Toynbee for example. Not exactly your archytypal Labour supporter. She was born into a life of luxury. She describes herself as middle class.

Middle-Fucking-Class!

She's on the best part of £120,000 per year, has a property in one of the most desirable streets in Clapham, W4 and has a place in fucking Tuscany and she calls herself Middle-Class?

Fucking hell, what the hell does that make the average worker, who is on £22,000pa. I am on just shy of £15,000pa. Am I part of the underclass in her estimation?

This is the problem.

The liberal columnists and journalists in Fleet Street have become so entrenched in their own Utopian world, that anything and everybody who interferes in it, can go and screw.

At a time when the Labour support is evaporating as quickly as Andy Murray's US Open challenge, the likes of Toynbee and Richards have a responsibility of listening to the concerns of the grassroot Labour voter.

Otherwise, they as much as Gordon, will be to blame for the inevitable Tory Landslide at the next election, whenever that will be.

Am I Missing Out On Something?

Morning,

I have a thought that have been on my mind this morning, in fact, it has been making me think for some considerable time.

Ever since I left school pretty much, I have been single. I don't know why it has happened like that. I think that my personal problems that got in the way for the five years following myself coming home from the Isle of Wight has a great deal to do with it, and so any chance of finding someone was next to nil as it wasn't really important back then.

Shame really, as I do wish things were different. Perhaps, back then I should have fought my problems with someone there to be with me, instead of fighting all my problems, on my own, too scared of letting others into my world.

Some might see the ramblings above, as someone who still has problems, although not as acute as they once were. I can understand where they come from on that premise.

I see friends, moving on in life, so it seems. In some cases, starting families, having gorgeous babies!

And I do have to ask the question - am I missing something?

Not in a monetary sense, or materialistic sense - but in a inner-happiness, within myself and around myself.

You can sense when people are happy within themselves, they seem much more at ease with themselves, more assured, dare I say, confident in themselves.

It isn't that I don't think that I have got more confidence in the last few years. I know I have, it is just that I don't know whether I am ready, if I'll ever be ready to find that someone and most importantly, settle down and have a family.

Or even if I want to.

The women that I have taken a liking to, have all without exception rejected me out of hand, for one reason or another. There will come a time when I frankly will not want to continuing doing this, and in the process feel that I am getting desperate.

I do not want to become one of these blokes who go out finding a piece of flesh, (as long as they have a heartbeat) and get her into bed and fuck her, and then regret it the next morning, because that would complicate things.

And that's the reason why I haven't lost it my virginity yet. Although I am not religious, I do agree that the first time, you do have sex, it needs to be someone you care about and love - and until I find that special person, the pecker will be staying firmly under my Calvin Kleins!

Speak later!

Rob :)

Well Played...

I can't help but say congratulations to Roger Federer on a job well done, over in New York last night.

He did not allow Andy Murray to play the game that worked so efficently against Rafa Nadal in the Semi-Finals, and in effect bludgeoned the Scot.

Murray, however has a lot to be able to take away from this experience. The fact that he was able to get into his first Major final, and in the process, beat Nadal on his way there, shows that there is the likelihood in the coming years that Andy will win that first Slam.

Well played, both of you!

Chairman's Brown Tour

I see the Prime Minister has decided to get his cabinet off their pampered arses and into the country.

Well, Birmingham.

The Prime Minister's erstwhile advisors feels that his ministers are acting as if they do not understand people's concerns on the economy, house prices and the ever increasing cost of fuel.

Well, tell us something we didn't know already.

Apparently, the word from Whitehall is that Cabinet Ministers were advised to travel to the Midlands via Standard Class, instead of going First-Class, for obvious reasons - just to show, that they feel our pain - what the fuck do they think we are?

Oh I remember, the electorate did vote in a War-Criminal last time out.

Some of us, on the Liberal Left, have still not forgiven Chairman Brown following the debacle of 42 days without charge.

This is something that Brown has to address at the Party Conference in a few weeks time, as well as the ongoing problems regarding fuel bills and particularly the justified Windfall Tax that needs to be bought in to curb the oil companies' ridiculous profits.

If Brown doesn't deliver on these areas, then he is signing his and his party's poltical death sentence.

Murray - Fucking Hell!!!

Just left for work and need to say that Andy Murray's performance over the last two days in defeating Rafa Nadal was simply wonderful to watch

The way that he just took the match to Nadal, particularly in that fourth set last night, break point down showed everybody including his critics that he can become World No.1 in the next few years.

Now watch him beat Federer tonight, Murray to win in probably four sets again!

McCain And Palin = Bush's 3rd Term

Evening,

Unlike the DNC in Denver, Colorado last week, when I watched a lot of the coverage on BBC Parliament, I haven't watched any part of the Republican Convention in St Paul, Minnesota.

With good reason.

It is accepted, certainly outside the USA, that Senator Obama feels much more Presidential than McCain, more of a leader than the Senator from Arizona and therefore leader of the Free World.

That is what America believes in, isn't it? The international policeman, sorting out the world's problems.

Interesting, then that by the rhetoric of McCain's Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, whose speech, from what I gathered to be nothing short of diatribe against the liberal media, and by extension the rest of the world.

There was a certain whiff of xenophobia and playing on people's fears in both Palin'd and McCain's speeches these past few days.

Surely they cannot win, that would be unthinkable for the world and particularly for the poor people who the Republicans do not give a fuck about.

Sure they give a damn about whilst you're still in your mother's womb, but once you're out, you are on your own.

Vote Obama.

For All Our Sakes.

Going Down The Tube....The Economy That Is!

Whilst English football continues to rack in billions in undeserving riches, Britain's once fabled economy seems to be going downhill. Chairman Brown's prudent and seemingly indestructible system using well-thought out policies (such as Tax The Poor Double, even if they are struggling) seems to have run aground.

Not before time. It has been some decade and a half of unprecendented growth and spending in the country. It was inevitable that the bubble was going to burst. Saying that though, you would have thought that this government would have a decent back up plan to combat these tough economical conditions, in what are difficult times for the majority of the country.

Well, as Sven might say....

They do. It's just that it's not really a great plan.

The government announced on Tuesday plans to increase the level that you start paying Stamp Duty up to £175,000 - meaning any sales under that ceiling are exempt. Looks good.

But when you consider that the average house price for first time buyers in the North Of England is £104,354, whereas in London it is £241,985, then you can see that there are going to be voters who are not going to gain fuck all out of this emergency measure. Similarly, down here in the South East and the South West, where house prices are also relatively high in comparison to the National Average.

Another measure to come out of this is the offer from the government of households earning less than £60,000 per annum, being eligible for loans free of charge for five years on new properties to help cash-strapped borrowers who are up to the eyeballs in the smelly stuff.

Surely it would be better for those buying their first property for house prices to drop by the 30% of a property's value that the government has stated they would give to first-timers.

Of course, when the five years is up, guess where the interest would be going to....

Greedy cunts!

Utter Madness

After what seems to have been the most surreal 72 hours, Football has ever known, it ends with the completion of one of the most contentious transfers in recent times and the most unlikeliest.

The sudden sale of Manchester City to the Abu Dhabi United Group for a reputed £200million has triggered the craziest sequence of events which in the end saw over £70million change hands between four clubs, and has changed the order of European Football, something that had been threatening to happen for the last five years or so.

The way things are going, within a few years you could see all the clubs in the Premier League being owned by multi-billionaires. Being a millionaire is no longer enough. To be able to compete you need a lot more than a few million in your Jersey or Cayman Islands bank account.

Add into this the ever-continuing circus at St James' Park and Upton Park with the ever revolving doors continuing to seem to have managers coming and going on what seems to be a daily basis at those two great institutions, as well as the ridiculous shenanigans at L4, you do have to wonder where English Football is going to end up eventually.

You have broken your promise that there would be sufficent funds for world class players.

You have broken your promise that under no circumstances would you put any leveraged debt on LFC.

Why Won't It Fucking Work!

Afternoon,

Have spent the last few nights apart from last night doing this very long piece that I mentioned I was doing on Saturday night. So far I've done some 1200 words, and think it needs another 1500 to 2000 words to give the full account.

So far, I've found it to be very relieving on the sense that I'm able to show my feelings and my thoughts in writing in a way that I haven't tried to before now. Being able to write my thoughts down is something I did at that time, however I burnt the book thinking that it was too macabre and ill-provoking. There was too much invrhose books that was upsetting to read back on at that time.

However as time has moved on and you get a greater degree of life experience, I felt that it was time to tell of the immediate years after I left school - knowing full well, that those who have only known me from the time I started at where I am now, would be shocked and staggered by it, but also knowing that they as some of my closest and dearest friends deserve to know the darker side of my life.

Need To Say Something....

Morning,

I'm just wanting to say that I haven't forgotten you!

I am wanting to do a long and in-depth post however because it is such a issue that is close to my heart immeasurably, I need to think carefully how to say it, so not to shock and upset people who are very close to me, but also so I can be at ease with it.

I'm going to try and do it tomorrow and sleep on it tonight.

You'll understand why, once you've read it.

Some Loo At work,

Morning,

Just thought I would catch up on my thoughts, whilst in the loo. Had a very good afternoon, with some friends. Sorry I couldn't take up the offer of dinner, but thanks anyway!!!

As for today I should be confirmation for our trip to Alton Towers in April 2009. I went there with some friends this year and all in all it was a great weekend, though I think I might have overdone it on the alcohol, that Saturday night.

Anyway, that's all from me for the time being...

Breathe In......and Relax

Costa Cafe, Folkestone

Morning,

I type this from the local Costa coffee place here in Folkestone, the weather is distictively humid and quite muggy, although cloudy hence why I think it might have been not the best idea walking up here with a bloody hoody on.

As Sub Sub's Past comes onto my itouch a couple of thoughts arouse me this morning. At a time when the economy is going down the shitter quicker than Liverpool's transfer budget, the idea of giving those who live in council properties, almost £40,000 towards a deposit for their own house seems to have come out of some desperate think-tank. It hasn't.

The idea had come from former Trade and Industry Secretary, Stephen Byers (note the word, former there). In his article in the Sundays, he believes that Chairman Brown has not been radical enough. Rather sensible than Radical in these worrying times.

The second thought that comes into focus is the ever continuing occupation of Iraq and it's resources by the U.K and our American cousins. With reports coming out of Baghdad that another 12 innocents have been slained in a suspected car bombing this morning, surely it is time that Brown actually does what he said in his manifesto and start the pull-out of troops. When Zapatero became Spanish PM in the aftermath of the Madrid Train Bombings, it was within weeks, not months that the first troops began arriving home.

So what's the fucking delay, Gordon?

As for my day, as you probably have guessed by now, I thought I'd give myself a day away from the gym. My legs are still stiff from yesterday, and to be honest that's not a bad thing. The last thing I want to be doing is getting towards the point of burnout. So we'll be back there tomorrow evening. Due to be meeting some friends later this afternoon, for a couple of drinks, non alcoholic for me, of course!!

Speak soon,

Rob :)

Some Thoughts....

The past few days have been hard yet, I'm relatively calm on the outside. As I mentioned in Thursday brief blog, I was at work till gone six, considering I should be done and gone at 4.30pm, therefore whilst the majority of the team, decided not to come in following excessive drinking that night celebrating a colleague leaving to start a new challenge within the company, I thought I'd leave 45 minutes before I'm supposed to. Nothing wrong in that me thinks. Intend to do the same when I go into work later today. I'm on 35 hours a week, no more. Not going to get any brownie points by forgoing such lieu time - so screw them.

Afterthoughts....

Off to footy in a minute and just about as I left work just after six as a work colleague was trying to demostrate a piece of software useful in the extra work set aside for me, only for my 'computer' to show great timing by not working.

So have had to rush around getting ready has pissed me off no end.

Anyway gotta go,

Catch up tomorrow, if I can be bothered....

Considering My Options...

Today has been a difficult day, which is making me question my future where I currently and by extension, where I live.

We have been told that we will more likely than not be moving into a new office block that the company has bought within six weeks. That is all fine, however my workload is to increase yet there does not seem to me much change of a payrise to come from this extra work, which frankly has pissed me off, no end.

I had agreed to such work being passed onto me on the proviso that I would be paid accordingly. None of this seems likely to happen anytime soon.

The option of leaving for pastures new does feel like it needs to be considered and seriously. Such decisions cannot be taken lightly, as I have already decided in my own mind that if such a scenario was to happen, then I would leave Folkestone completely. Once you've worked I am working now, there is no other company who can offer the sort of lifestyle that I have become accustomed to in the last years.

London seems like the obvious option, withbthe high speed link coming down in the next year or so. The attractions of working in the capital are obvious, more money naturally, which could mean the likelihood of perhaps getting my own place which is a absolute pipedream right now.

Anyway these things will no doubt continue to cause concern for me in the coming days and weeks, I just have to hope that it all gets sorted to a conclusion that satisfies me....

The Point Of It

Afternoon,

Well after a weekend of lounging around doing sweet fuck all, apart from the gum for about a hour or so, I trooped to the gym, arriving there just after 7am, with the usual hardy souls already going through their paces. The majority of them are pensioners doing their daily routine.

And there comes the point. Because it is routine, they don't see it as a chore like I do right now. Why is it that more and more youngsters are getting obese, it is because they see exercise as much a chore as tidying their bedroom up or washing the dishes. Physical education is deemed less important nowadays than it once was. Perhaps that is a direct consequence of schools and governments needing better exam results.

Why is it that if you come from what is classed as the lowest 10% in the country, you are more likely to be obese than not? Surely it cannot be coincidental that those who are more likely to be obese and poorer in health terms, come from the areas which are ridden with crime, hence making it more likely that they are going to cooped up indoors with the Playstation.

So you'll be asking what is my excuse.

I went to a private school, where I was actively encouraged to play rugby (represented the town, that the school was), played football in the winter, played cricket in the summer, and went mountain biking at least once a month during the weekend. Of course it helped being on the Isle of Wight, where crime is next to non-existent, where you felt safe and secure.

The weight piled for a number of reasons, some I wish not to discuss for personal reasons. Depression played a active part. I had been on Prozac on and off, for my last year at school and that continued after I left school and particularly after my parents split up for again reasons which I won't get into, although back then they said it was for financial reasons...

Depression and the tablets that the quacks give you for it does some shitty things with your body, one of which is, like dope it makes you hungry and that is what happened in my case.

I do wonder what would have happened if none of the above had happened to me, and thinking about it makes me more determined to get back to my normal, healthy weight before too long.

It's been too long...

A Spot Of Advise...

I've downloaded to the Itouch's 2.0 firmware...

Bit of advise, it's a nightmare. I'm in a position where although I can use my touch, I can't sync anything onto iTunes which I think you'd agree is a bit essential, however I'm able to charge my battery whilst online...

What a fucking joke...

Weighty Issues...

In the middle of May, I weighed 16st and 10lbs. My love handles went over my jeans and I was a mess.

As of now, I weigh 15st and 2lbs, my love handles can go in my jeans, without there being any baggage and I feel pretty good.

It has been hard, and there is a long, long way to go, but so far it has been worth it.

I want to lose a further 30lbs between now and the start of December, so in old money that is 2st and 2lbs.

So that works out at about 2lbs a week. Doable me thinks...

In The Brown Stuff

Just when we all thought it could not get any worse for Chairman Brown it does.

Oh fuck it does. When shit pours down on you, fuck it pours!

The 'Earthquake In Scotland' that the SNP predicted duly happened and although it has not made Chairman Brown fall onto his sword as of yet, it surely does make the end that bit more inevitable than it was not even 48 hours ago.

Brown has to make a calculated decision which will affect and change the UK, in whatever form the Union exists in the next few years. If Brown was to go at the Labour Party Conference in the autumn, then that gives any potential leader, about 18 months to resurrect the party's fortunes and avoid the sort of cataclysmic landslide that befallen the Tories in 1997. That could happen to be the only chance left in the locker.

That is to presume that any leader wouldn't go to the country after any leadership contest.

Someone like Jack Straw probably would, whilst the chief Femi-Nazi Harriet Harman, would probably think 'screw the country' and in due course make Left-Wing politics in this country go back by the best part of 30 years. It took the best part of 20 years to convince the electorate that where we as Left-Liberals was the best course for the country.

It would take that long as least to get the people back onside, and at a time when minorities are bring persecuted in Europe at the hands of the right-wing zealots, such as Berlusconi and Sarkozy, a lurch to the Right would be the wrong path to take.

The Labour Party has a big call to make. To allow Brown to cling onto power until 2010 is signal a unprecendented wipeout of Labour MPs in their Heartlands, and I don't believe the Tories and SNP would be the only beneficiaries of such a collapse.

If they were to elect someone from the Labour Left, then any such election would see Labour keep their rock-solid territory. Yes, I admit, they would lose and lose badly. But they would keep their strongholds in the North-East of England, Merseyside and Central Scotland, as well parts of Yorkshire and South Wales.

Keeping the status quo does not guarantee any of the above. It can get much, much worse, if Brown is still in charge come 2010.

Afternoon!

I'm typing this blog on LifeCast, which you can use on the Ipod Touch, as a result of the new 2.0 firmware introduced by Apple, in the past few weeks.

Anyway, I do intend to do a more detailed blog either later today or tomorrow, discussing amongst other things, the state of two great institutions - The Labour Party and Liverpool FC as well as the latest on my attempt to get slim...all over again!

Decisions, Decisions

Afternoon,

This week is going to be a difficult one for me, following my meeting
with my boss last Thursday.

It has been made clear to me, in not so clear terms that I need to
start thinking about the future away from my current job role.

That seems easier said than done. The thought of starting another
position without feeling that I have completed what I wanted to get
out of the current job, isn't something I want to discover.

Obviously, I want to move on, but not without utilizing all my skills,
and most importantly I just know the next job I have is going to be
the one that makes or breaks me.

The Hypocrisy Of Politicians

Morning,

Yesterday morning, I woke up to Chairman Brown lecturing us Proles to
conserve the food we buy, and not to waste it.

This at the same time as the leaders of the G8, settled down for a
dinner of Champagne and Caviar.

Great, if you can have it.

What about the millions who are starving?

...and yet the West continues to twiddle its thumbs....

Gordon Must Go - For the sake of the Left.

I've come to my conclusions, even though I have been thinking it for
the last few months, particularly since the local elections in May and
furthermore since the whole 42 day debacle.

Gordon Brown must relinquish the Labour Leadership.

It's words that a year ago I feared I would have to write. He was a
excellent chancellor, let me put that on record. However, sorting out
the nations finances is one thing - running the country as a whole
entity is another thing altogether. The worrying thought is that I
struggle to think of anyone with the political clout and the support
in the country who could make a difference to Labour's fortunes right
now.

People suggest David Milliband as a potential leader. That might go
down well in Westminister, but there is something not right about
him. Too much of a Blairite for my liking. Too right-wing for me, or
I suspect for the grass-roots. Might be a idea to leave that option
till after the inevitable whitewash of electoral defeat in 2010 or
before if we're lucky.

That's the thing. If we were to elect a new leader before then, we
are then in a position where we would have to go to the electorate
otherwise we would look no better than a banana regime.

Perhaps getting rid of Gordon is the best thing we could do.

If we as a movement want to move on, we need to get the general
election done with as soon as possible.

Then we can start rebuilding, even if that means in opposition.

Rob :)

Haven't We Seen This Before

Say, with Mr Mugabe, continuing his purge of democraticaly elected politicians in Zimbabwe - I do have to wonder where he gets all his ideas from...

Ah, I see...
So going along with that, we should come to....

Oh, fuck.

Now that's fucking scary, but he doesn't look out of place there, the fucking fascist cunt.

Perhaps we should give the cunt a taste of his own medicine...

Ideas will be welcome.

Place Your Bets...

Just seen something on Guido, apparently Betfair are offering odds of 9/1 on Chairman Brown leaving office before the end of the year.

Reasonable odds that, considering that he could be gone before then if Nu Labour's fortunes don't change any time soon.

With the unions threatening a summer of discontent as well as Labour on the brink of
bankruptcy. There is the thought that the unions could hold the cards of Labour's short term future.  The thoughts of many indicate that the unions want Alan Johnson to take over - a former union official.  Whereas Blairites and Labour's millionaire backers want David Milliband.

If Chairman Brown goes then, whoever comes in would have to get a mandate from the country. It was common knowledge when Bliar went to the electorate in 2005 that Chairman Brown was waiting in the wings to take over office.

There was nothing there for people to presume that within a year of being elected that Chairman Brown would be such a liability that his commissars would be lining up to give the Coup D'Grace to their leader.

What goes around, comes around.

Rob :)

Strike One...

The aforementioned Summer Of Discontent seems to be upon us after Unison Council Workers voted to go on strike to get a better wage.

They have been offered a below inflation rise of 2.45%, but they are demanding 6%.

In recent weeks, Shell tanker drivers have been given a pay rise amounting to 14% after negotiation, following a four-day stoppage which bought parts of the country to a near standstill. We have seen the unfair bonanza of shareholders and city bosses getting ridiculous bonuses and dividends, yet the first sign of the workers rising up and demanding a better living wage and these same bosses are falling over themselves to criticise them.

The Chancellor has asked that everyone from 'the boardroom to the shopfloor' to take payrises consistent with the government's 2% inflation target.  Fat Chance!

Asking the low-paid and average earners in the public or private sector to make sacrifices when the people who have caused the economic difficulties in the first place and yet continue to draw record bonuses breaches any test of fairness.

I'm on just under £15k, the average wage is £22,000pa. Only 2% of the working population is on anything over £200,000pa. Yet it is this small group of people who are making the economic decisions which are causing hardship for the majority through their speculating and sheer risk-taking on stocks and shares and yet they are the people who are gaining at everyone else's expense - literally.

I back the strikers.  There is no excuse for the lowest-paid in this country to go without a decent payrise because of the selfishness of a few yuppie cunts who are the children of Thatcher.  And surely that is a good reason, never to vote for the dirty Tories.

We need to adopt the socialist model, where those who can pay tax can, and those who cannot, won't.  The argument for those on the minimum wage, not to pay tax should be taken to the people.  Anyone who went to the country on these principles, would have a good chance of getting into power, because the party of the workers, the vulnerable and the persecuted is not working with our interests at the forefront of their policies.

So Much For Opinion Polls…

A poll was released this morning, which could show that the tide is turning in regards of public support of 42 days.

It comes from The Mail On Sunday, done in conjunction with pollsters ICM.

These are results from the first polls carried out in David Davis' constituency of Haltemprice and Howden in the aftermath of the former Shadow Home Secretary's decision to resign his post from the Tory cabinet. Obviously no surprise that Davis' would win any such election today, but the differential between the 2005 election result in that constituency and now is pretty startling. A lead of some 33 points, compared to just 11 in 2005, should make people think.

Furthermore it shows that the MP would beat, the Scum's 'pro-42 candidate' known as the Vermin by over 53 points – 67% to 14%.

Worryingly for Chairman Brown, it shows that Davis' assertion that people are concerned and worried, about Nu Labour's obsession with destroying our civil liberties is correct. In the same poll 59% agreed that Britain has become a nation of snoopers – and there's the government said that they had public opinion on their side.

Meanwhile, the Vermin is supposed to be having second thoughts over standing for the pro-42 lobby, after his handler, Rupert Murdoch reportedly disowned his campaign following disparaging comments from the Vermin, regarding the nearby city of Hull.

Not the first time, was it that the Vermin, had generalized a city in one word, now isn't it.

To further add to Chairman Brown's woes, rebel MP Bob Marshall-Andrews, who I have a lot of time for, has publically announced that he intends to support Davis' in any forthcoming by-election, and indicated that other Labour MPs agree with the stance taken by Davis, indeed it is reported that Ian Gibson, another principled and respected MP has indicated support.

And there's Chairman Brown saying that it was only the Tories who were divided.

Oops.

There has also been a number of writers and analysts who are beginning to come out of the woodwork in support of Davis' campaign. I have to say some of the best come from Henry Porter, in the Guardian. For those who are not in the know. Porter has fought a celebrated campaign, in the Guardian's sister paper, the Observer, for the past two years and
here
he explains, why he supports Davis' fight.

Furthermore in the Mail On Sunday, the leader of Liberty, Shami Chakrabarti explains
why she is supporting Davis on this, amid reports that she is to organize a 'Celebrities for Davis' grouping, as well as going on the campaign trail with him.

Brown's worst possible nightmare is beginning to unfold. The unholy alliance of Libertarian Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Ultra-Left Wing Radicals such as myself and groups such as WSWS are against this on principle.

The next few weeks will decide how this country is governed for years to come. We have to rise to the fight that is coming.

And In Other News…

The people of Ireland have given the European Union, its answer to the abomination that is the Lisbon Treaty.

Back to the drawing board, I think, Gordon…

The Vermin Known As MacKenzie…

Seems like Chairman Brown is not going to allowing a Labour candidate stand in the by-election following David Davies' resignation as a MP – so the Columnist known as the Vermin is reported to considering standing on the understanding that his boss, Rupert Murdoch is to bankroll his campaign.

An Australian financing a potential election bid, haven't we been here before?

The sheer thought of that bastard even considering this, has got people's lips licking with anticipation, with groups of differing persuasions, considering actions against the Vermin during any potential campaign.

This just gets more and more intriguing by the hour…

12 June 2008

….One Thing Comes Out Of A Dark Day

After yesterday's disgraceful vote, where Chairman Brown bought his 42-day internment law by default, I was looking forward to Fleet Street's finest tearing pieces out of Brown.

That they did not disappoint.

Then, just before 1pm, the Shadow Home Secretary, David Davis announces that he is to quit as a MP, on principal of being completely against 42 days and the general way that Zanu-Lab was actively pursuing a campaign to dissolve people's liberties.

Now I have a problem, although minor in the greater cause. I have grown up in the notion that Tories in the main, are the scum of the earth, alongside with S*n journalists, Kelvin MacKenzie, and Jean Marie Le Pen.

However, I will have to admit that on this one case, and this one case alone, I have to applaud Mr Davis for his belief in what he is doing.

Of course, Zanu-Lab are already calling this a publicity stunt, with arch-Nu Labourite Denis MacShane, calling the resignation, an Italian Art Circus. No doubt, Robin Cook and Clare Short will appreciate those kind words, as both resigned on similar grounds over the illegal Iraq war.

This is going to run and run…….

So What Did They Get Out Of It?

There are now a range of stories coming out about bribes/threats/etc being used to get the 42 day vote through the first stage of making it law – ranging from DUP's members of parliament being assured of £200million to cap Water Rates.

So now the entire world knows the going rate for a "Democratic Unionist" MP. £22,222,222.2222 recurring of tax-payers money, or one ninth of £200 million, But it's a currency which will soon be devalued.

What other inducements are on the table for those willing to sign their souls away and vote for 42 days. Give it a year, and the cunts will be asking for 58 days. That is a guarantee. One question does need to be answered, and that is whether this was all illegal. If it isn't, then yesterday showed that it should be. MPs votes should not be bought for ministers and a government own interests, and shows the sort of twisted mind that Chairman Brown that he feels that he has no option to use such corrupted means to try and show how tough and honorable his position is.

In my opinion, Chairman Brown is signing the death warrants of many British citizens and soldiers. Internment, which is what this is in all but name will rapidly generate the number of terrorists operating in this country, as was shown in Northern Ireland. Surely, you would have thought that we had learnt our lesson.

Seems not.

Chairman Brown has stuck his head on the guillotine block on this, to try and get support from the editorship at the Scum, and on that side of it, it has worked, but at the same time has destroyed the very fabric of the Labour Party – now known as Zanu-Lab. The party of the working class - not of the corporate cunts who feed on resentment and hatred. Chairman Brown is guilty as are a lot of his ministers of trying to feed on people's fears and concerns, and whipping up this right-wing, xenophobic response, by certain sections of the media.

The astonishing attitude by MPs towards our civil liberties is beyond contempt. Capriciously, they decide that our liberty has a pecuniary value, which they determine. And what about those who are dare I say fortunate to be released without charge within 28 days?

This country's forebears sacrificed their lives, all in the name of Habeas Corpus and the rule of Law, and when compared with these know-nothing sheep, these ignorami, these blatantly, self-serving nonentities…..

Unfortunately, these are the people who have been elected by the people to serve the people…

What now for Chairman Brown? He's probably going to have to try and get more money to pay for these presents for those MPs, (bigots in the case of the DUP) and that won't come cheap. Some people have suggested that yesterday's vote might eventually cost him up to £1billion, and we probably all know what that could mean.

Chairman Brown and his apparatchiks might have won this vote, but they have lost their powerbase for good, with no possibility of a reprieve.

Time To Get Tough On Mugabe The Cunt

British and American diplomats based in Harare, have just been released, after an unprecedented attack by what seems to be some Robert Mugabe's War Veterans, not to be confused with Hitler's SS.

According to the US Ambassador in Harare, James McGee, said in an interview on CNN: "Police put up a roadblock, stopped the vehicles, slashed the tyres, reached in and grabbed telephones from my personnel, and the war veterans threatened to burn the vehicles with my people inside unless they got out and accompanied police to a station nearby."

It seems almost certain that this is coming from the top, and Zimbabwe is in effect being run by a Military Junta, with Mugabe leading the fascists, using the leaders of the armed forces as his henchmen.

The people of the free world need to make it clear to the Zimbabwean ambassadors in whatever part of the world they are in, that free and fair elections are non-negotiable, and if they are fixed, then direct action must be taken against them and their embassies.

It is that Simple.

The Poles and The Liberal Elite's Hypocrisy

Something that you would have seen on the BBC last night, if you
watched Newsnight, was a thought-provoking piece regarding the
criticism of thousands of Polish workers coming into Britain to do the
jobs that the Indigenous populous won't dare touch with a bargepole.

Immigrants coming into Britain, to do the jobs that we won't do.
Shouldn't be a fuss about that, surely?

Wrong!

The Conservative MP, Daniel Kawczynski has said that liberal
commentators have gone out of their way to question the reasons so
many Poles have come over in such numbers, in a way that those same
commentators, quite rightly did not criticise migrants from the Former
Yugoslavia moving to the UK in the late 1990s.

Furthermore, the MP has stated that such criticism has provoked
assaults on innocent Polish workers.

Opinion Polls have stated that whilst immigration remains high on
people's concerns, the nature of the debate had changed, as more and
more nations from the former Iron Curtain joined the European Union,
so freedom of movement has become easier for them.

It was my MP, the former Conservative Leader Michael Howard who said
in 2005, "It's not racist to talk about immigration," and it was
argued that those undecided voters, were put off, as they felt uneasy
of the language being used, as should all of us.

The Liberal Elite are acting no better than the knuckleheads who
support the B*P in the way that they have tried to marginalise Poles.
The BBC's Home Editor Mark Easton argued, that the communities where
the Poles have moved to have some of the worse race relations in the
country.

Yet, you don't see this same vitriolic bullshit being thrown at
certain other communities. Race relations must be pretty bad up
north, Manningham and Keighley come to mind...

The media of all persuasions have got a legal as well as moral
obligation to treat everyone the same, and not victimise immigrants or
anyone for their own twisted agendas.

The Way That We Are Going...

I am wondering what is going on with the world right now. We have several unprecedented situations that are arising and continue to develop. The biggest of all, certainly is the nomination of Barack Obama as the Democratic Nominee for the upcoming U.S Elections, thus becoming the first African-American to be nominated to run for one of the so-called big two parties. The question was asked on Five Live this morning; whether we would be in a situation when we could potentially see a Prime Minister in this country. I think if you asked me that question a few years ago, I think I would have said probably within five to ten years, there would be the potential for someone from that demographic to come through and get the big job.

Back then, I would have been thinking of someone like Trevor Phillips or Paul Boateng. Although Boateng has fallen somewhat off the political radar as of late, I would like to think that Sir Trevor would like to have a go at the top job, considering he has been doing a fine job at the Commission for Racial Equality, since taking up the position a few years back.

The question was then put on the radio, whether colour, no longer mattered when it came to moving up the career ladder. Surely, we have gone beyond that. Indeed, we still have some retards in the country who still think that it's OK to have those Alf Garnett thoughts, yet we should be taking on those Neanderthal slugs who continue to have those views, and particularly those who believe that voting B*P will make their area a better place to live. I have always been one, who believes and still does that the only language fascists and Nazis know of, is the language of the fist. People cannot be naïve anymore, when it comes to this pack of wolves. They pick on vulnerable areas, where depravation is rife and disaffection with the incumbent government is there for all to see.

I read a piece on a well-known website recently, that if the city of Stoke-On-Trent decided to keep its elected mayor, then there was the very real likelihood, that a B*P mayoral candidate, may just get into City Hall, in deepest Staffordshire. Not so many years ago, the City Council up there was jam-full of Labour Councilors – all 60 of them.

In the last 10 years, they have lost ¾ of those. Nine of them have gone to the odious and repulsive B*P.

That should scare the establishment, into trying their fucking hardest to reconnect with the voters, not just of Stoke-On-Trent, but with other areas where the B*P are gaining, and gaining frightfully quickly. Could you ever see a city such as St Paul, Minnesota, where Obama spoke last night and has also got a similar population to Stoke-On-Trent, ever voting in a member of the KKK as mayor?

No, me neither.

These are scary times, for the people of this country. There is no hiding away from that fact, sad as that is to say.

But there is no excuse at all to vote for the filth, who would like to set us back fifty years.

No, fucking way.

Mugabe Tries To Silence The Opposition – AGAIN…

It has been reported that the leader of the MDC – Zimbabwe's opposition movement, has just been released, after being in 'custody' for the past 12 hours or so.

This follows the detention of the leader of a breakaway faction of the MDC, this past weekend.

Over 60 opposition activists have been murdered since the original elections, which the MDC were robbed of.

Millions are starving and being starved for political purposes, the army have told its troops to vote the fascist cunt, or else – and all this whilst the zealot is being wined and dined by World leaders in Rome.

So much for free and fair elections…

There needs to be action taken in this country and around the world against the Zimbabwean regime, and if necessary, the zealots of ZANU-PF must be hounded out, because right now, the world's leaders seem to be sitting by, twiddling their thumbs, whilst the former bread-basket of Southern Africa burns.

Get The Nazi Cunt Out.

UPDATE: It has been confirmed that he has been released, but his armoured vehicle has been taken from him by the 'authorities'.  According to the MDC, this means that he has no security vehicle to take him from place to place.

I presume that Mugabe is going to similarly treated....

Thought not, cunts.

Brown Is A Busted Flush....

Afternoon,

I couldn't help but delve into Prime Minister's Questions, earlier
today - and listen to a very tired and jaded Chairman Brown answering
MP's questions.

It is evident that the Prime Minister has been affected by the past
month's events, and it cannot be a surprise that senior Labour party
activists are looking into other ways to stop the rot.

But right now it has to be said that they are not helping themselves
at all, with fishermen, supported by their counterparts from France
and Belgium , being the latest to demonstrate their unhappiness at the
lack of government support. I think the presence of their European
comrades should serve the government with a dire warning. With the
deadline from Welsh hauliers demanding action from ministers,
regarding lower fuel tax, now passed, it is clear that the government
is only listening to their quangoes and no fucker else.

Democrats Make The Right Choice

Morning,

And if you've haven't heard, the Democrats have made the right decision and elected Barack Obama to be their candidate, (and for the record, the World's candidate) to take on John McCain to get the keys to the White House.

Vote Obama!

3 June 2008

Hillary For VP? – Is Barack Bonkers?

Reports from the U.S indicate that the above certainly could be the case, with high-ranking advisers to Illinois Sen. Barack Obama being more and more convinced the last day of the six-month run-after for the Democratic nomination will create just an adequate quantity of delegates for Obama to overcome his inexhaustible opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Obama officials anticipate being a focus for endorsements from more than a dozen super delegates as soon as the Montana and South Dakota polls close up and, as such, will either be just beneath or just above the threshold of 2,118 delegates. Several House members have withheld their endorsement for Obama pending the end of the primaries. A handful of senators who have been leaning in the direction of Obama may also make known their support after the polls close in what may be a harmonized burst of super delegate support just before Obama's Tuesday speech in St Pauls, Minnesota.

That is where Obama is planning a victory speech that will make the general election argument for change but also generous praise on Clinton's campaign as Obama seeks to defuse any possible friction with the New York senator.

About Fucking Time, Too!

2 June 2008

You Just Can't Accept That

I see that Chairman Brown is urging his probes to support interning
suspects for up to 42 days - citing national security.

Yet we have these terrorists recruiting mentally-ill patients, as was
seen in the recent botched bombing of a restrauant in that hotbed of
militancy, Exeter.

Surely if anything, the attack showed that regardless of what measures
you take to combat terrorism, there will always be someone be wanting
to commit some atrocity.

On top of that, we have the spectre of amongst others, the former
Attorney General Lord Goldsmith, and the Council of Europe's human
rights commissioner, Thomas Hammarberg, so it is reported. Still
Chairman Brown rides roughshod over what these respected men of their
respective fields, and instead pander to the politics of fear as
espoused by the right-wing press.

There does seem to have been a lot of this recently, the by-election
in Crewe and Nantwich had in its last days, tarnished by the Labour
machine after they accused the Tory candidate of not supporting ID
cards for foreign workers - when in fact the majority of people don't
support such draconian measures.

What we are seeing right now is that this unelected Prime Minister is
out of touch and the Labour leadership need to show their socialist
instincts, instead of being washed in the putrid smell of the fascist
shite that Chairman Brown is sprewing at.

The Problem With Gordon…

Gordon Brown has a problem. In fact he has several problems. Delete that. He has several massive headaches that he needs to deal with, very quickly.

The Prime Minister has allowed all of these problems to build up over time, for no reason at all.

If we look at the immediate problem to hand at this time, for Mr. Brown and his Chancellor, they have until the end of play, Tuesday to work out how they are going to appease the hauliers who have been involved in go-slows up and down the country, this past week. With blockades going up in Spain, Portugal, Italy and especially France, Mr. Brown has to be decisive in what he does. The government needs to avoid a repetition of the protests in Europe as in the above countries, new governments have just been recently elected, or in the case of Prime Minister Zapatero, in Spain, re-elected, whereas, Chairman Brown, had been anointed by the Labour Leadership, without going to the country.

The Labour government also has to realize that the hauliers would not just have the support of the majority of the electorate (including myself), they could potentially have the support of some organizations who you wouldn't associate with such a protest.

Being on, some of the left-wing websites, there is an undercurrent of resentment towards the government, in the way that they have continued to cosy up to the oil companies, who are making record amounts of profits as a direct result of oil prices going through the roof. Of course, one way to see a fall in oil prices would be the end of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and withdraw all British troops from there immediately.

The Iraq war, as anyone with a brain realizes was an imperialist adventure, and the original strategic plan was to see oil prices back down to as little as $10 a barrel, which was a pipedream.

Instead, the defeat which has occurred has caused nothing but, increase tensions in the Middle East, the Gulf and Central Asia, if it needed any further help. That has caused the inevitable spike in oil prices, which are causing these unprecedented profits for Halliburton, Exxon and BP. That in turn has prepared the way for the US subprime mortgage meltdown, and the financial crisis that is being played out in front of our eyes as we speak.

That Brown won't take any action against the oil speculators. These are the cunts who acquire oil stocks, years in advance and in turn assist in driving up the oil prices.

Therefore, the working class is stuck with bankrupt and out-dated policies, and a corrupt and capitalist system that will mean rapidly increasing inflation, which will inevitably cause the cutting of earnings savagely as well as high interest rates that will means millions of jobs lost, and the resulting bankruptcy of many small businesses, while the threat of homelessness will hang over millions of homeowners powerless to service their ludicrously enormous mortgages.

Mr. Brown has a big decision to make this week. If he makes the wrong decision, it could take Labour out of power for a generation. The trade unions need to make their voices heard, and speak for their workers and not for their self-interest, as they have done in the past.

A lot of people have got an awful lot to lose…

Losing it - update...

Just a quick note to let you that as of now we have about 9lbs, in the
last 10 days or so, meaning that we are about 15lbs away from hitting
the 1st big target, that hitting 15 stone, with the deadline being end
of July. Got footy tonight, will speak soon

Rob :)

Bank Holidays - The facts

England has eight bank holidays every year...

Europe and the U.S has three more.

Several Latin Americans nations have up to 33 such days each year.

So not only are we the worst paid and most taxed in the developed
world, but we have the least holidays...

Makes you wonder what's the point of it all.....

24 May 2008

Weighty Problems....of all sorts!

I've been back at the gym for a week, and as of now have lost 4lbs.

Before you all congratulate me, I've still got 21lbs to go till I hit
the first target. Symbolic as it would be the lightest I would've
been at my current employers.

I think that it gets to a point where all you are doing when you go
out for the evening is wishing that you didn't stand out in the
crowd. It is natural to think that, 16 and a half stone and 5ft 8",
that is always going to be the case.

Saying that, we do have the example of James Corden of Gavin and
Stacey fame being romantically linked with Lily Allen. How the fuck
has that come about? James, is slightly shorter and heavier than
yours truly, and yet he's been able to pull women, that I can
fantasise till the cows come home, but it'll never happen whilst I'm
like I am.

People say that they love you for who you are, but surely that doesn't
count for shit, if you don't love yourself. The press are constantly
harping on and on, about models always being skinny and size 0, in
fact one of the reality shows in La-La land deemed anyone over a size
8 as being of Plus-Size.

That is ridiculous and pretty vacuous. At a time where more and more
young people are taking drugs to get skinny, surely society has a
moral obligation to explain the difference of being healthy as well as
skinny and skeletal and ill.

Think Labour might just win the next election.

Dunno why. Just have a feeling...

I type this from a toilet here in Folkestone. The weatherboa
beautiful, and I have just enjoyed a nice, chilled glass of Bulmers,

Perspective Of Life...

Got home from Alton Towers last night, hoping to just crash out and
get some well deserved sleep.

Some chance of that happening with Mother.

As soon as I got in, the witch was starting with sly remarks. For
fuck sake, why fucking say anything if you haven't got anything to
fucking say. Can't live without your fucking banker for a fucking
weekend. And they say that parents are supposed to guide their
siblings. Not in this family. If you have money, then you are
Mother's best friend, if you haven't, you're no use at all to her.
And the same can be said of my sister, who cites amongst other
reasons, that she thinks its more difficult to get on with different
people for her than it is for me, and so she'd rather stay in her job,
with shitty wages and similar job prospects, whilst at the same time,
sponge as much money off me as humanly possible within a month.
Currently at £520 for the two of them so far since payday, leaving me
struggling.

As if they give a fuck...

I didn't move back home for them to make me worse off, but that is
exactly what has happened.

And the saddest thing of all, is that I can only see this getting
worse, before it gets better.

If it ever does...

Back To Reality.....but only temporarily

People,

I am glad to report back in after a weekend of excesses, and that was
the KFC! Entertaining night on Saturday, was followed by Calzaghe
beating B-Hop in Las Vegas. Although my body might be with me at the
moment as I type in the toilet cubicle here @ work, I do have to say
that I have not felt as rough as I did yesterday.

Oh well, Alton Towers in barely 96 hours, but before then, we have the
prospect of Chelsea coming to Anfield, for the 1st leg....

Easy Home Win!!!!

For Your Listening...

Morning, all.

Thought I'd get online before I have to get ready for work, last day of the week, all good!

Moving on, here's some stuff for you to have a peruse and listen to for the next few weeks...

Firstly, I mentioned that I would get the Manics' response to the Hillsborough disaster and the way that a certain incompetent police force reacted...however I cannot at the moment, but will try and track that down. Very important.

Moving onto my genre of choice, here's the first...

This track is by Global Experience - Madras. It's on Tiesto ISOS Ibiza, released in the Autumn last year. Excellent track.

Next one above is from Prolific Trancers - Above and Beyond, this is from the newly released 'Re-Mixed' album. It's Tri-State (Robert Nickson Remix)

NB: There is an excellent Intro Version of this which is beautifully crafted.

Finally, I leave you with this, This is Lost Witness Vs Sassot - Whatever (Aly & Fila Remix). Massive tune!!!

See ya!

Rob :)

Justice For The 96

Today marks the 19th anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster where 96
innocent Liverpool supporters lost their lives, thanks in no small
part to the incompentence and lack of leadership by South Yorkshire
Police, also known as South Yorkshire Mass Murderers as depicted by
the Manic Street Preachers. I'll find a link for you later today.

I'm intending to put up some links for you all to look at sometime
tonight.

Today's memorial service at Anfieldvis expected to be well attended as
always. It is one of the occasions where attendance by all Management
and players is deemed compulsory.

Today also puts into sharp contrast the current goings-on at Anfield
involving our esteemed American owners. Neither are expected to be at
the service today...

Quiet Weekend

And it was to be honest.

Mum was working both days and I was working the Saturday Morning. Got
home did fuck all for the rest of the weekend. Did induge in a nice
bottle of Rosè whilst watching the Masters Golf on the Beeb.

Very Nice.

Typing this whilst having a tight chest, been like that for most of
today.

Get paid tomorrow, 45% of it has to go to Mother and Sis. Not great.
Hopefully, I'll get some money back from people who owe me, saying
that I don't want going without. That's not fair on them. Got Tara's
birthday get-together on Saturday which will be fun. Gangsters and
Sluts are the theme.

Wonder what they'll think if I went all Bugsy Malone on them all ;)

Brown In Common Sense Shocker

It seems that our Dear Leader does have cajones after all.

Just days after saying he would be going to Beijing for the Opening
Ceremony for the Olympics, he has performed a U-turn and is now not
going.

That, as well as the farcical and ridiculous relay, took in San
Francisco....well it did, just that we wern't able to see it.

I didn't know San Francisco had also been annexed to China.

Is it me, or....

Are we nearing the end of our Labour government?

I say 'our' Labour government with more than a glancing sigh, as they
have well and truly shafted their core vote.

People, young people like myself, who would naturally vote Labour,
feel betrayed, as they have abolished the 10p in £1 level, as well as
the 25p in £1 level and they have replaced it with a one-size-fits-all
20p in £1 level, meaning that if you are a low wage paying 10p to
every £1, you are being asked DOUBLE, than before.

Are we sure Brown isn't just Thatcher in a suit?

Bastards.

Fucking hell......

Liverpool 4 Arsenal 2

What a game.

Two awesome teams.

Worthy of the final.

It can be argued now, that the four best teams in Europe, are
England's big 4

Wow!

When we were young...

Messy weekend here in Folkestone, and that was just the snow!

Friday night was my 26th birthday get together, and as expected it was
lively and manic as those six minutes in Istanbul.

The usual suspects, and although they all did their very best to leave
me legless, they failed as I was able to walk the mile or so back to
my place in the north of town.

Saturday, arrived in a blur and distorted way. For some peculiar
reason, I went into work to check up on those who'd been out the night
before - it's called showing responsibility and maturity and nothing
else (bullshit!!). Got home and watched LFC draw with L'Arse at the
Emirates, which considering we never get anything there, is pretty
commendable.

Decided not to head out Saturday, proved to be a wise decision as I
was shattered by 7pm in any case!!!

Finally, yesterday I went down to my ex-boss' place for a fantastic
Mexican, absolutely fantastic!!

It snowed whilst we were down there and today as I type this the snow
is melting on the hills, due to the sun getting to work on it.
Apparently we might get some more later. I hope not. Never thought
I'd hear myself say that!!!

I was thinking just before I hit the sack last night, whether I'd hit
the jackpot, with the friends that I've got. I've always found
meeting new people relatively, but they have with rare exceptions,
taken advantage of me.

Think I'm lucky with whom I can call my friends!

Speak later....

Another Day, Another Dictator...

Last week, China.

This week, Zimbabwe.

Over the weekend, the Zimbabwean people have voted in their droves to
show who they would like to be their next president.

Not that simple, that.

The latest from there is that there will probably have to be a run-off
between Hitler and Morgan Tsranghai, the leader of the opposition
movement, the MDC.

According to observers from the SADC, the elections have been free and
fair. I can only presume that is by African standards, as I don't
remember dead people being allowed to vote. It's like that episode
from the simpsons where Sideshow Bob fixes an election.

Even snowball voted for Bob.

Anthems of Our Time - (oh fuck it, it's my time)

Here's a selection of beats from my life....

The first is this amazing track from 2006 - It's Mike Foyle - Shipwrecked (John O'Callaghan Vs Mike Foyle Club Mix)

The next anthem is from the past six months, it's from Dubfire (one half of legendary deep house producers, Deep Dish) this is Roadkill (EDX's Acapulco at Night Remix) MASSIVE!

The next big track, personally for me is the track that has got me back being an Trance Addict, after years of being in the Minimal and Electro scene. This is Mungo - Summerblush (Aly & Fila Remix)

Next on the list is this by Sunlounger. Another Day On The Terrace is the first track on Armin Van Buuren's latest Universal Religion Live Album, and it sets the mood for such a organic and special ride. This is the same Intro Club Mix that is on the album. Very Special.

Finally, this incredible track by Above and Beyond - Good For Me (Club Mix). It does not need any further introduction. Get fucking on it!

Having the shits....

In the loo at work (11.15am - GMT) and have got stomach cramps which
ain't too good to be fair. Fucking agony wouldn't come close
describing this pain!

Have said that I will try and do my profile this weekend ahead of what
probably will be a messy week for me.

Also need to give some links to some of my very favourite anthems from
now and from when I was young and naïve!

Peace out

Rob :)

27 March 2008

Just to let you know wthat I have had a shit week.

Had a cold for the last week, which has seriously curtailed my plans, for easter. Obviously had to go out for my sister's 30th, which I felt dreadful, but just didn't have the stamina for Holly's 21st, which STILL pisses me right off.

Anyway got an even bigger and mental week coming up, with the LFC playing the bitters this weekend, followed by an date at the new and bigger library against L'Arse for the QF of the CL, which clashes with Claud's birthday get-together, so gonna get Sis to keep me up to date with the latest there.

Oh and then next weekend, (5th April) is my birthday. Hopefully it goes a fuck load better than the last few. I've actually trying to arrange a night out for it.

RARE!

Censorship - How far is too far?

In the last few years there has been concerns in the world we live in
about Freedom of expression and how far can people go, before they go
over the proverbial line.

Could it be that we could live in a global society where you could
slander anyone or anything, providing that you showed evidence to back
your thinking up. Or as has been suggested by certain zealots, that
some things are deemed as too sensitive for comment.

The case of the cartoons which offended Islamic scholars caused
widespread anger and revulsion, got massive media coverage, yet the
cartoons that depict Israel as cannibals and beyond human, although
getting media coverage in Israel, hardly gets any in the Western Media.

Why is that? Surely the media by giving coverage to one group and not
the others is fanning the flames of hate.

By the same token, what rights do organizations and companies in
general have to tell their employees what to think and say. There was
a message from the creator of the Internet, Tim Berners-Lee - where he
has advised youngsters to be careful what they input on social-
networking websites such as myspace and Facebook, as HR departments
might trawl through them and have a nose.

Fucking hell, are we heading towards the sort of society where you are
scrutinised 24/7, regardless of whether you are at work or in the
privacy of your home.

The inclination from Berners-Lee is that you should be careful what
you believe in, what you do out of work, and basically not have a
life, just in case you upset your bosses!

Say your politics were to the left, pro-union, anti-capitalist, anti-
war etc, should we be put into a position where we would have to
conceal that information, to make sure that we got that job.

Talk about fascism by the back door.

Memo to Hu Jintao,

Just fucking do it, you don't want the olympics to become a fucking

That is what's going to happen if you don't do as the brave Tibetan
people and the world demands you do.

Just another weekend

Decent weekend just gone. Apart from having to do my first Saturday
in over 10 months, which wasn't to be fair that bad, I was invited to
the housewarming of a couple of mates who have been there for
sometime, but haven't had time to celebrate it.

Oh for my own place again. Don't get me wrong, Mum & Sis are great,
but I think they realise that I can only be back home for a period of
time, before the craving for my own space too much.

Busy week again for me. Obviously, we only need to be working four
days, this week and the next. My Sis's 30th on Friday, followed by a
night in Dover for Holly's 21st.

Should be a good week!!!!

Rob :)

10 March 2008

Stormy Monday

Afternoon,

I write this on my itouch in the midst of an hectic day at the
office. Decided that I'm going to get another portable exercise bike
to go under my desk here, after using the one I bought at the weekend,
and finding it to be extremely good fun.

Having said that I was going to give you my musical tastes to savour
and devour, I am going to sit down and give you a favour of the music
that has changed me as a person on this planet. Some of it is of the
'hands in the air' variety, some of it is pure gold. And some of them
remind me of moments past.

Speak to you later

Urgent Memo for Tom Hicks and George Gillett

FUCK OFF, YOU FUCKING MONEY-GRABBING CUNTS.

Rob :)

Tim Westwood............Why?

Tim Westwood is 50 years old, for the record that is half my age.

He is famous, as being a relatively good DJ whose reputation went
through the roof, when he got shot, nine years ago. OK, probably out
of order, but still how the fuck can you be raised at a private
cathedral school in Norwich and your father was the Bishop at that
time. Fucking hell.

He has got millions in the fucking back and yet here he is still
acting like he's Tupac Shakur fucking bro, down in South Central.

Why?

Get into your slippers and let someone else make a complete tit of
themselves, Timothy.

Could be worse. Could be Terry Christian, fucking Manc Cunt.

4 March 2008

D-Day for America - and for Humanity.

Today is one of the most important days in a generation, as the
electorate of Ohio, Texas, Vermont and Rhode Island go to the polls to
elect their chosen representative for the upcoming elections, eight
months from now.

For Senator Clinton, she needs to win all four, convincingly to have
any chance of getting the democratic nomination, whereas my man,
Barack Obama, only needs good performances in all four to pretty much
win the candidancy in my opinion.

Those on the left around the world need someone that we can rally
around. We can only do that with Batack Obama. Can you honestly say
that with Clinton, with her involvement in the last supposed
Democratic Presidency.

Of course, not.

In The Line Of Fire...

When the MoD yesterday announced that Prince Harry was going to be
pulled out immediately, they inadvendently sent out the message that
some soldiers were more important than others. Implying that their
lives were less precious than a pissed-up hooray henry, who up to now
was doing an fantastic impersonation of Harry Kewell, i.e what the
fuck was he there for.

It was obvious as fuck that they would pull the rich boy out of harm's
way the moment Matt Grudge announced to the world that the third in
line to the throne was indeed doing his bit for Dubya's War on Terror.

Ridiculous.

Get our troops out, all of them.
