In The Know...

I see that a massive £2million was staked with online giant Betfair on Italian clubs Chievo and Catania finishing level - with a further £217000 on a 1-1 draw.

The " predicted " draw between Chievo and Catania was facilitated by a game played at walking pace and Catania being given a penalty to make it 1-1.

Betting was suspended before the game, but some big money was wagered early this morning.

Bookies will pay out because the people involved in such corruption are not people who take kindly to being "offended”.  And unsurprisingly everyone involved is very likely to get away with it.  Funny that...

Such a draw is known in Italy as an "Annunciato"
