That is the brutally frank question that those in the media and in government has to be asking themselves tonight following the controversial ruling by the Scottish Justice Secretary to release the only man found guilty by the authorities over the Lockerbie Massacre some 20 years ago, Abdel Basetali al-Megrahi.
There is the argument which was put forward by the minister concerned that even though the crime which al-Megrahi was found guilty was heinous without precedence, certainly at the time of the calamity, there was the sense that they should not forget their moral responsibility - hence allowing him out to pass away back in Libya.
Saying that, Libya has quite a lot of oil doesn't it and BP are in the region trying to make more money for the ailing British economy...
Night, Night
